Drive into the Curves

“When life throws you a curve, lean into it.” ~Author Unknown

Our journey is constantly full of potholes and curves. Now with potholes we want to be careful how we travel over them, and take our time so we don’t get too beat up. But curves are better handled if we don’t drag our feet or ride our brakes too much.

Don’t let fear keep you from seeing what’s on the other side of that twisty curve. Be like a sports car and take your foot off the brake and drive into the curves of your life. There just might be beautiful weather on the other side, and you’ll never know unless you try.

Be brave and bold on your journey. You got this; trust yourself.

Directions

Never follow anyone or thing; lead instead. Trust only yourself because you and only you know the way. Everything you need to navigate your journey has been placed inside. You, my friends, have a map, and your Spirit is just hanging out and waiting for you to press the right buttons to activate this map.

“Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction.” ~ Rumi

Don’t be confused by all the noise in this world. Just take a deep breath and then move confidently in the direction you just know you should go. The path is waiting.

“Confidence is the way to grab the future by the horns!” ~ Author Unknown

Yes, this will take practice if you have spent most of your life listening, believing, and following what society keeps throwing your way, but there is always hope if you start to depend and trust yourself today. Turn off other people’s loud music and dance to your own tune.

You are a beautiful free spirit so take to the sky and fly high.

Take a Pause

Take a pause, and then ask yourself: Is my anger in this relationship worth a nuclear bomb?

slow

Once you blow up a relationship it’s impossible to ever put the pieces back together again. I know from experience that even if you can find the pieces they never go back quite the same, and that’s because trust is missing from the pile.

Always take that pause. There’s no hurry you know. Time is on your side, and tomorrow? Well, it’s a new day.

Go For It

“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.”  ~ T.S. Eliot

Don’t let anything in life get in the way of what you truly want. Keep those dreams and plans and simply go for it. Obstacles do appear from time to time and make our lives stressful, but you have to kick the barriers down and go for what you want.

“A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he be at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be.” ~ Abraham Maslow

I know it’s hard sometimes, and life can sure get us down. But don’t be rolling up in a ball and hiding from all the hassles that keep raining down. Pick yourself up–I know you can, and then just do what you need to do and see how far you can go. In the long run, you’ll be happy that you did, and you just might surprise yourself at how far you’ll go.

Life is what you make it and it can become your friend, or foe, so why not just decide to make it your friend and flow.

“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.”

~  Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Embrace Your Past

A lot of things have happened in your past–some good and some not so good. And it stands to reason that those long ago decisions you regret making in your youth you want to forget or hide away, but don’t. Learn to embrace everything in your past because your past holds the key for the who you are today and the who you’ll become tomorrow.

Your journey is a rapid one, and you will make miscalculations along the way, but don’t sweat it because it’s going to happen anyway. Don’t berate yourself, just chalk it up to the lessons you had to learn. Remind yourself that all bad decisions are as much a part of your journey as all the good ones; embrace who you are.

The past is gone, so don’t dwell there. Realize that all that you have experienced is what has given you the richness and texture of your character, and how wonderful that character is. Without all the good and the bad, you just wouldn’t be you.

Look down from the mountain of life and see how far you have come, and realize that you made it despite the missteps. Now look up and see all that is waiting just for you. Celebrate your life’s journey–even the crappy times and trust in yourself. This is your journey friends, and it might be the only one you’ll ever get, so do it your way and be all used up when you get to the end.

Every line, every scar in or out, and every inch of body art is the who you are. Stand up, be proud, embrace it all!

The Swarm

If you’ve ever witnessed a honey bee swarm, you know it can be a bit intimidating. The bee hive gets too crowded and the bees choose a new queen while the old queen with about half of the bees takes off to start a new hive. The swarm can look like something out of a horror movie.

Life can sometimes mimic a swarm where you are either in it, or watching one. Either way, it can be unsettling. The trick is to learn how to live your life well-balanced while the swarm is happening.

When all you ever hear and see is bad news, and you feel the swarm is hovering so very near, have no fear. Instead, go on and live your life with purpose to the end.

When you find your life is all in disarray, and you are actually now part of the swarm, don’t despair, be like the honey bees and you will finally get there.

Trust yourself and believe in your life. Through personal stresses, tragedies and even wars, people find a way. Families sit down to dinner and share their thoughts around, lovers find each other somehow in the crowd, and babies are born every day while others go away.

Through all the ups and downs life always finds a way. This is your life and it’s meant to be lived even in the swarm. Living your life through the bad times will make your roots grow deeper, and you my friend, will find peace and become richer and happier for it.

And what about those swarming honey bees? Leave them alone; they are no threat to you. They are just protecting their slow flying queen and want nothing to do with the likes of you. If they happen to build their hive a bit too close, find a beekeeper who will gladly take them off your hands usually for free.

Always protect our honey bees; we need them to survive, and always flow gracefully forward while you are still alive.

Trust

Trust in the person you are becoming.

Trust you will be okay.

Trust that you are on a mission and won’t stop until it’s completed.

Trust in the love others give to you.

Trust that you are smart and can do anything you put your mind to.

Trust that you know what’s best for you.

Trust that you’re not alone on your journey.

Trust in the universe, and accept with open arms whatever it
gives you.

Trust there’s a reason for everything no matter how hard.

Trust you can live your life without your life living you.

And… above all else, trust in your dreams because one day they will become your reality.

“Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.”   ~ Golda Meir
