Thank You

Those really horrible times caused by hateful people in your life, be thankful for it all because the people and the pain you went through taught you the best lessons: Forgiveness, and that you are worth and deserve so much more.

The beautiful days and kind people all around you, be grateful for it all because without those days, and special people, life would be dull without the sparkle.

When tragedy and sadness invade, hold on tight with the knowledge that you will get through it all. Don’t let the joy of living rush out the door. You will learn that you are stronger than you ever imagined, and you will know for sure what is really important in your life.

Every day is filled with learning lessons about yourself and life. Some of it is hard and hurts to the core. Embrace it all and say, Thank You, for the rich journey you are traveling on.

I would like to say thank you to all my wonderful friends here at WordPress. Thank you for all your support. I am grateful and appreciate each and every one of you!

It’s Still There

When tragedy hits whether it happens to us personally, or we are spectators of a horror that we can’t comprehend, we lose our bearings and nothing makes sense anymore, and beauty seems to go out the door.

But, the beauty and the sense of our lives are still there. It’s all around us and all we have to do is open our eyes to see.

It’s there in the small baby we hold so close taking in the sweet smell of a new life and fresh beginnings of hopes and dreams.

Our loved ones who accept us for the beings we are, and hold us tight when our world is falling apart.

We hear it in the giggles and laughter of children at play going about their day feeling safe and loved without a care or worry in the world.

The sunrise and sunset that begin and end our long days bring us the sense and beauty that we belong to each and every day.

It’s there in the elderly hand we hold giving love and support as once we were given when small and everything was so new.

Let us not forget the furry family members that grace our homes. Always listening and showing us unconditional love no matter what.

The warm sun bringing gratitude to our hearts, and each rainy downpour enticing us to jump into puddles. And, oh yes, the tiny snowflakes that tickle our noses making us feel so alive and wanting so much more.

We see the beauty and sense of life in the magnificent trees and colorful flowers that paint our days, and the delightful singing of songbirds that make us stop for a second and take notice.

Nature always teaches us about our lives even sometimes brutally, but its beauty and strength takes our breath away and makes us better in so many ways.

When we get lost from things out of our control we need to remind ourselves that yes, beauty and sense are still there. Just open your eyes and see it’s all around you and me.

The Swarm

If you’ve ever witnessed a honey bee swarm, you know it can be a bit intimidating. The bee hive gets too crowded and the bees choose a new queen while the old queen with about half of the bees takes off to start a new hive. The swarm can look like something out of a horror movie.

Life can sometimes mimic a swarm where you are either in it, or watching one. Either way, it can be unsettling. The trick is to learn how to live your life well-balanced while the swarm is happening.

When all you ever hear and see is bad news, and you feel the swarm is hovering so very near, have no fear. Instead, go on and live your life with purpose to the end.

When you find your life is all in disarray, and you are actually now part of the swarm, don’t despair, be like the honey bees and you will finally get there.

Trust yourself and believe in your life. Through personal stresses, tragedies and even wars, people find a way. Families sit down to dinner and share their thoughts around, lovers find each other somehow in the crowd, and babies are born every day while others go away.

Through all the ups and downs life always finds a way. This is your life and it’s meant to be lived even in the swarm. Living your life through the bad times will make your roots grow deeper, and you my friend, will find peace and become richer and happier for it.

And what about those swarming honey bees? Leave them alone; they are no threat to you. They are just protecting their slow flying queen and want nothing to do with the likes of you. If they happen to build their hive a bit too close, find a beekeeper who will gladly take them off your hands usually for free.

Always protect our honey bees; we need them to survive, and always flow gracefully forward while you are still alive.

Boston Marathon

When the world is upside down and tragedy is the word of the day, pull in closer to those you love.

When the world has gone mad and you don’t know who to trust, pull in closer to those you care about.

Go outside and sit down on the grass and feel the earth beneath you. Dig your fingernails deep into the dirt to know that yes, earth is still here and so are you.

Close your eyes, feel the warmth of the sun, and know that yes, the cold of the tragedy will soon be gone.

Hear the birds chatter away and know that there is still life on this planet, and tomorrow will be a better day.

But until then… hold your children closer tonight and smother them with hugs and kisses. Protect them while you can from the craziness of the world they live in.

let us all draw in a little bit closer, and care more for each other because we’re all we’ve got when the world goes mad, and aren’t we all just one?
