Keep Evil at Bay

“All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.” ~ Edmund Burke

Evil lurks deep into the crevices of all societies. The world has always had people who do evil. These people are very clever in recruiting others to join their missions and cults. Evil can wear many faces and appear innocent at first. Don’t allow yourself to get mislead and end up in a hideous plan. Check your thinking.

Don’t fear those that seem different, or fear what you don’t understand. Educate yourself, and become enlightened. Don’t get caught up blaming and hating others for how your life has turned out. Do something positive with your life. Get out of your head, and learn to think outside the box.

Draw on the love that is deep inside. It’s there; we all have it. Listen to your Spirit. Accept all beings. All of us have a right to be.

“No human race is superior; no religious faith is inferior. All collective judgments are wrong. Only racists make them.”

~ Elie Wiesel

It is vitally important that we all check our thinking. Collective negative thinking can make for a dangerous world. We don’t want to repeat our past mistakes, or start up new ones.

“With our thoughts we make the world.” ~ Buddha

The world we live in can become so much more and we have the power to make it so. All it takes is kindness and love.

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” ~ Anne Frank

Stay positive. Choose love over hate. Be there for your family, friends and neighbors. Maybe, just maybe, if we all do this we can protect our beautiful blue planet and keep evil at bay.

“Know mankind well, don’t degrade every man as evil, and don’t exalt every man thinking he is good. He who cannot discover himself cannot discover the world.” ~ Rumi

Use your power.

Tiny Puzzle Pieces

“When we see others as the enemy we risk becoming what we hate. When we oppress others, we end up oppressing ourselves. All of our humanity is dependent upon recognizing the humanity in others.”  ~ Desmond Tutu

Each of us possesses a piece of the puzzle to make humanity work and save our planet. Great and small minds alike have ideas that can work; we just don’t know we have such a thing hidden deep inside us.

Overcrowding, pollution of all kinds, hatred, greed, evil ideologies, etc., we do have the answers to solve. It just takes a strong desire and a pulling together. Maybe that’s our calling and why we are here on Planet Earth.

The only thing we have to fear is the fear inside of us and the fear and mistrust we have for one another. The only way to combat this fear is acceptance. We need to get over our prejudices, superiorities, judgments, and all around memes in our minds.

Find out what your tiny puzzle piece can do to make a difference. Crafting great letters to your representatives, writing articles to inform and educate, volunteering for cleanups, volunteering for anything, asking your neighbors not to use poisons on their lawns and plants, watching out for each other, and just being kind to all beings.

If we don’t come together with a tiny piece of the puzzle and start making changes we might all be doomed. Dig deep and find your power. A little bit here, a little bit there, it all will make a difference.

Let’s all walk gentle upon our Earth and feel the need to protect her and all the beings that live here, including the crazy humans. If we don’t, who will?

“The Earth is just not our environment. We are the Earth and the Earth is us. We have always been one with the Earth.” ~Thich Nhat Han

Random Acts of Kindness

Many of us in the US are still in shock since the election. And now Thanksgiving is on its way. Some of you may wonder, “What do I have to be thankful for?” It’s hard for so many of us to see our country go the way of evil and hatred. It seems like an unthinkable, horrible, nightmare where there’s no escaping. This new incoming administration makes me think of the characters from Star Wars: Darth Sidious the emperor, aka “ Dark Lord of the Sith,” and his side kick, good old Darth Vader.

It has now become politically correct to be a racist. What a chilling thought. Yes, it’s hard to see and feel thankful when we sense the darkness approaching, but thankful we must be. We have to give gratitude that we are still a diverse and free society, and we must be mindful to keep it that way, and everything else we hold dear to our hearts.

After signing all the petitions until your eyes are blurry and maybe even marching in protests you still don’t feel empowered, try practicing random acts of kindness. It can be something so small as smiling at a complete stranger, or giving a child a much needed hug. Maybe you could run an errand for an elderly neighbor, or give a co-worker a ride, or volunteering. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you expect nothing in return, and it comes from the heart. And that smile for the stranger may go farther than you could ever imagine.

Love is empowerment, and random acts of kindness will always trump hatred. So get out there and make caring contagious, and be grateful that you can.
