Let yourself flow with the season, with the people in your life, and life in general.
It’s such a burden to always feel you have to be in control. So, step away, breathe. Everything will be okay.
When tragedy hits whether it happens to us personally, or we are spectators of a horror that we can’t comprehend, we lose our bearings and nothing makes sense anymore, and beauty seems to go out the door.
But, the beauty and the sense of our lives are still there. It’s all around us and all we have to do is open our eyes to see.
It’s there in the small baby we hold so close taking in the sweet smell of a new life and fresh beginnings of hopes and dreams.
Our loved ones who accept us for the beings we are, and hold us tight when our world is falling apart.
We hear it in the giggles and laughter of children at play going about their day feeling safe and loved without a care or worry in the world.
The sunrise and sunset that begin and end our long days bring us the sense and beauty that we belong to each and every day.
It’s there in the elderly hand we hold giving love and support as once we were given when small and everything was so new.
Let us not forget the furry family members that grace our homes. Always listening and showing us unconditional love no matter what.
The warm sun bringing gratitude to our hearts, and each rainy downpour enticing us to jump into puddles. And, oh yes, the tiny snowflakes that tickle our noses making us feel so alive and wanting so much more.
We see the beauty and sense of life in the magnificent trees and colorful flowers that paint our days, and the delightful singing of songbirds that make us stop for a second and take notice.
Nature always teaches us about our lives even sometimes brutally, but its beauty and strength takes our breath away and makes us better in so many ways.
When we get lost from things out of our control we need to remind ourselves that yes, beauty and sense are still there. Just open your eyes and see it’s all around you and me.
“Accept this moment as it is.” ~ Eckhart Tolle
I agree, it’s hard to accept some moments when they are downright horrible, but fighting against those times gets you nowhere. I think it’s better to just go with it. “This too will pass,” is a saying that’s been around for a long time and one my grandmother used to say. It’s a good saying and one maybe we should keep in mind when life gets tough.
In accepting the moment as it is you are surrendering–not giving up, there is a difference. Surrendering is letting go of having to control every little thing in your life. You are learning to flow through your life so you can enjoy all of it fully.
Every day I am reminded how precious life is and how short it can be. So I take the good with the bad–the cold rainy days with the glorious sunny warm days and treat them equally. After all, they are both part of my life and I own them.
Bad things come, but they also go, and then good things take their place. Don’t use up all your energy fighting those bad moments. Just go with it and the good moments will come.
This is your life so be completely present.
“The really big successes often happen only after you let go of control.” ~ Robert Holden
Are you a control freak? You are if you find that you’re only happy when controlling everything around you. Now this is really a hard one because of course you want and should be in control of your own life. You are the master of your life and shouldn’t let others make decisions for you. And of course, you have no business trying to control anybody else’s life–that’s their problem and responsibility.
Now that we have established all of this, maybe you should let go of controlling your own life… just a little bit. Maybe you need to learn to flow more and see where you end up. Sometimes holding on too tight makes you lose what you’re trying to keep. Often when trying to control our life we end up out of control and tumble to an emotional death.
Relax, you just might live longer. The truth is that some things will always be out of our control. We do the best we can with what we have at the time. Never second guess yourself, you’ll go nuts doing that! Make the best decisions you can for yourself and those that depend on you and let the rest go. When we stop being control freaks good things happen. it’s probably because when we are so zeroed in on taking control all our creativity goes down the drain along with us feeling exhausted.
Loosen up on that control and see those big successes in your life appear. They will show up in better relationships, job opportunities, creativity, health and an all around happier life. Isn’t that part of what living is all about?
And while you’re at it, think about this:
“Two rules of harmony: #1) Don’t sweat the small stuff, and #2) It’s all small stuff.” ~ Richard Carlson
Do you sometimes overreact in situations and basically find yourself going off the rails? Then it’s time to step back and figure out what is really going on in your world that is making you too sensitive to the life you are leading.
It’s easy to get ourselves into the habit of overreacting. It’s part of this racing around modern world that we are now living in. We don’t take a moment to think things through before our mouths open up and we blurt something out in response to a situation that either needs some time to think on, or no response at all. I think this is also a problem of us not connecting with each other anymore. We don’t connect, we just react.
But if you find this going off the rails happening in your world too much then there’s a deeper reason why and it’s time to step back, take a deep breath, and be honest with yourself. Maybe you are just unhappy with portions of your life, or maybe it’s your whole life that’s not working out for you. If any of this is true, then it’s time to make some changes.
Change is never easy, but it is always better than living a life that’s not working well for you. First thing to do is clear your head and stop listening to your ego. Listen to your gut–that sweet quiet Spirit that is you. What do you really want to do with your life? Don’t be afraid; fear is your enemy and will always put the brakes on what you should be doing.
A very apprehensive little girl going into the 4th grade was wondering if this school year was going to be a good one for her. She was concerned about what kind of teacher she would have, how hard the work would be, and the other kids. I told her it was up to her what kind of year she would have. I explained she had the power over herself and no one or anything else. If she wanted a good year then she had to make it so.
You too have the power to change what’s not working in your life. Don’t go off the rails and just be a reactor, take control and design the life you want. By doing this, you will find that you will be a calmer and overall happier little human. And while you at it, throw that fear out the window–it’s such a bother.
“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” ~ Milton Berle
Have you ever noticed that when you are super stressed out you eventually start to feel sick? That’s because worry, anxiety, expectations, being a perfectionist, depression, fear–just all kinds of negative emotions can make you physically and mentally sick.
Your mind can do all kinds of terrific things, but it can also sabotage you from time to time. That’s why you need to check your thinking daily to make sure it isn’t scheming with ego to ruin your health. The mind and body are in a relationship and when it’s on the rocks, Some kind of counseling might be needed.
When the mind won’t turn off all the negative chatter and you feel drained, it’s time to take action. Try taking a walk, or if you’re in good shape, then some real physical exercise. Swimming is a good way to de-stress and pretty easy on the body. And like I always say, becoming one with nature is very peaceful. Take the focus off of you and put it on something positive. Soon you will notice the mind will shut up.
Get real with yourself and realize that you only have so much time on this earth, and that time is ticking away. Don’t let an out of control negative mind make you sick. Who knows, maybe life threatening illnesses are caused by how we think. Wouldn’t that be something if we could stop them from happening with how we think?
You are in control of what is going on in your life. So check your thinking just like you should check the engine light in your car when it’s annoying you. The goal here is to make sure that all systems are a go so you can have a long, healthy, and happy life.
And… if all else fails, just laugh. It will always be the best medicine.
“Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary.”
~ Eckhart Tolle
Take a stand today and realize that your life is simply and completely in your own hands. If you have been suffering over some situation in your life then you, and only you, have made that decision–the decision to suffer.
Suffering should not be part of your life’s journey because it’s negative energy and will get you nowhere. Walk away and leave the suffering behind and find the path that will lead you to your purpose. There is no magic in this and no one can do this for you. You were born with free will and only you have the power to make the necessary changes in your life.
Your life is in your hands, but the real question is, how will you handle this precious, fragile, life that you hold? Will you give it the chance to find its purpose, or will you weight it down and hold it hostage?
“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.”
~ Coco Chanel
“Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you’re living?” ~ Bob Marley
So much drama flying around; it’s here and there and just about everywhere! It invades your life, sucks your energy, steals away happiness, and leaves trinkets of despair. This is war, and you need to beat it down and kick the damn thing out the door!
You can stop the drama in your life if you do one simple thing–Stop Feeding It! But you have gotten so used to living in drama that you have become blinded to the truth. You think others barge right in bringing drama to your kitchen table when actually, my friends, you invited drama in and even offered the keys to your kingdom. Yes, I do believe it’s true, you just can’t stop feeding this beast and now he’s yours for keeps.
Wake up! Slam the door, put your foot down firmly on the floor. It’s time to take control of your life before life completely takes you over. Stay on point–you know you can. It’s time to start living a joyful, stress free life that’s right there standing in the wings. Don’t just exist–that’s not living. Meditate to connect to your Spirit, and push ego away telling it, “Don’t come back even on a different day.” Don’t be tempted to the dark side by unconscious people who cross your path, even if it means changing jobs, losing family, friends, and yes, lovers to achieve this task.
It may seem easier just to go on the way you always have, but realize your life is waiting in your hands. You, and only you, have the power to free yourself from the eating frenzy of the drama that won’t be silent in the stands.
Accept the “Is” of your life because sometimes you just can’t be in charge of what is happening around you, or even in your life. Don’t think for a second that this means your life is out of control because it’s quite the contrary, friends. When you accept the is of your life you put yourself in the driver’s seat taking control of the things you can actually change, and not putting wasted energy into the things you cannot change. This is very freeing and limits the anxieties that pop into your life.
The seas in life are very turbulent at times and can leave you with overwhelming decisions and feelings. On a piece of paper arrange two columns. Mark one column “No Control,” and the other one, “Control.” In the “no” control column put all the things you can’t do a damn thing about. In the “control” column do the opposite. Now stand back and really look at the things in your life that you have control over, and realize that the things in the “No Control” column are not really that important.
Accepting the is in your life will free you from so much negativity and leave more room for positivity. It’s the positive energy that you want flowing around you–it’s the one that will give you a happy fulfilled life; it’s the one that feels so good. That negative energy will make your days on earth miserable and cut your life short.
Ego just loves to make you feel negative about everything and will keep you on high alert and very stressed. When this happens to you, just yell out, “Is, Is, Is!” See, feel, taste and hear all the things that just are out of your control, then let them go. Now, take a deep breath and then exhale, blowing all the toxic negativity out of your body.
You are so liberated when you allow yourself not to be loaded down with the things in your life that you can’t do anything about. Simply accepting the “Is” of your life will bring peace, joy, and your life will flow gracefully forward.
