Your Life Is in Your Hands

“Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary.”
~ Eckhart Tolle

Take a stand today and realize that your life is simply and completely in your own hands. If you have been suffering over some situation in your life then you, and only you, have made that decision–the decision to suffer.

Suffering should not be part of your life’s journey because it’s negative energy and will get you nowhere. Walk away and leave the suffering behind and find the path that will lead you to your purpose. There is no magic in this and no one can do this for you. You were born with free will and only you have the power to make the necessary changes in your life.

Your life is in your hands, but the real question is, how will you handle this precious, fragile, life that you hold? Will you give it the chance to find its purpose, or will you weight it down and hold it hostage?

“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.”
~ Coco Chanel

Change Your Thinking

“A negative mind will never give you a positive life.”   ~ Unknown

Have you ever noticed that when you are in a negative mood nothing seems to go right? Life is just crappy when you feel negative. But when you finally decide to be positive everything in your life starts to look up. And this new sparkle you now have in your life is there because you changed your thinking.

Being negative about one thing catches more negative feelings and clutters up your life. But thinking in a positive way just seems to clear all that mess out of your life and makes it flow so much better. Yes, it’s true, sometimes bad things just seem to happen for no apparent reason and it can put you in a very negative frame of mind. But don’t let your negative thinking stay with you too long because if you do, the normally happy you will be gone.

It can take a bit of work to keep positive during a storm when the dark clouds are closing in, but fighting for that happy positive feeling is worth so much more than you might even know. Your overall health will benefit greatly, and maybe even your longevity. Relationships and your job will go so much more smoothly, and this precious life of yours that you sometimes take for granted, well, it will become richer and just seem to have so much more meaning.

Get out that broom and clean up all the cobwebs of misery that have been accumulating in your head for decades, and then only invite the positive thoughts in to play. Hey, isn’t this the way life is meant to be?

“You are not a helpless victim of your own thoughts, but rather a master of your own mind.” ~ Louise Hay

Death

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” ~ From a headstone in Ireland

In living our busy crazy lives there is one thing that can bring it to a complete halt and that is the death of a loved one. It is also a time when we begin to think of our own mortality, and how we are living our day-to-day lives.

There is our birth, then our death, but in-between there is this life that we sometimes take for granted. We waste away years struggling for things that may or may not ever come our way. We waste time in worrying, regretting, and hold on to anger and the need to always be right.

In living in-between this birth and death, let’s really promise ourselves to live our lives deeply with passion, purpose and always laughter. This is a great way to honor our loved ones who have died.

Listen closely to the gentle whisper in your ear, “Live well, live strong, and most of all enjoy your life as it rolls along.”

When Your Spirit Meets

One night before bed, I was thinking about my loved ones that had passed on over the years, even the little animals I so cherished. I thought about my own death, and how I would feel and react if I saw my loved ones. I knew that of course, I would be filled with joy, and even sadness having missed them. Regret would be there too for the relationships that hadn’t been good when they were alive. I realized that a lot of the emotions I would feel would be negative because sadness, regret, tears, and maybe even tears of joy are negative emotions. We all know that little devil, ego, has a hand in all things negative.

I have finally figured out that the ego is a part of who we are, and it’s what makes us human. it’s impossible to get rid of it, but it is tamable. That being said, I wondered on this meeting with my loved ones what would happen if I met them with my Spirit instead of my ego? I knew that my Spirit would only feel love, acceptance, and peace. There would be no sadness, no regret, no tears, just this warm light that Spirit shines ever so bright. I could sense how wonderful that would feel. Taking this a bit further, what if we did this with those that are alive? Instead of egos meeting, Spirits would meet.

Meeting any circumstance, or fellow being with your Spirit instead of your ego makes your life flow so much more smoothly. You don’t have to enter a situation ready for a fight. You don’t have to feel bad about the past, or fearful of the future. There is only now and all you have to do is feel love, acceptance and peace, and then let your life glide naturally.

How amazing it would be if we could live our lives this way. How freeing and simple. As life on Earth becomes more hectic and we feel stressful, free and simple sounds pretty good to me.

“Let your mind start a journey thru a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be…Close your eyes let your Spirit start to soar, and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before.”

 ~ Erich Fromm

Normal?

Oh, who cares if you’re normal or not! The main thing is, don’t try and be someone you’re not; just be you. You’re great just by being you. Maybe you deal with criticism that says you are not normal, but what is normal anyway? As long as you’re not hurting anyone and not breaking any laws then just be who you are.

Learn to accept this crazy imperfect person that is you, and do something really wonderful with your life. You are only here for such a short time and your time is running out. Make everyday count in your life, and don’t waste your time worrying that you’re just not like most of the people you know.

Encourage the children in your life to believe in themselves and accept the who they are. Give them confidence by really listening to what they have to say. Children just want to be accepted by their peers, but if they are a little different, then oftentimes they’re not. Children that don’t fit into the social mold need guidance to believe that they too are important and count in this world. Help them to find that one thing in their life that they can be really good at and shine ever so bright.

We all count, and have special talents, and we are all here for a reason. Be the quirky you and don’t forget to live your life fully, because if you don’t, then it was all for nothing.

“If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.” ~ Maya Angelou

The Sea

“With every drop of water you drink, every breath you take, you’re connected to the sea. No matter where on Earth you live.”

~ Sylvia Earle

She is powerful and yet gentle… the sea. Capable of mood swings from torrent gray to calming turquoise bays. One thing is for sure, the sea knows she’s in charge and will always demand your complete respect. Don’t ever turn your back on her because she likes to tease and be sneaky.

The sea can also rock you like a little baby if you meet her in a serene mode, or choose a location where she’s happy putting her waves at rest. She will even let you swim and play all day because she knows your beginnings came from her.

If you’ve never had the chance to swim in the sea, or sit on a beach and just watch her magnificent beauty, then sit down right this very moment, and somewhere comfortable. Now, close your eyes and think of her and there in your mind she will be.

The sea has powers–such great powers to remove all your stress and take it so far away that you can’t even remember what you were all upset about in the first place. Breathe in deeply, and then out, letting all your negative thoughts be washed away. Feel the clean salt air relax the tension in your chest and in your shoulders. Don’t you just feel better already?

Once the sea graces your soul… she my friends, will never let you go.

“Sometimes we are lucky enough to know that our lives have been changed, to discard the old, embrace the new, and run headlong down an immutable course. it happened to me… on that summer’s day, when my eyes were opened to the sea.”

 ~ Jacques Yves Cousteau

Soar

“Don’t let someone dim your light, simply because it’s shining in their eyes.” ~ Unknown

It’s a new year, and it’s a new you. Now is the time for you to soar and see how far you can actually go. Come on now, I know you can do it. I believe in you and you should too!

Let the beauty of your light shine through with the knowledge that you, precious being, have something very special to accomplish all the way to the very end.

“I’d rather regret the things I’ve done than regret the things I haven’t done.” ~ Lucille Ball

Live your life to the fullest!

Stillness

Marvel into the stillness of your life. Let the silence envelop all of you, and feel the presentness of peace that is yours for all time.

Happy Holidays to all of you!

“Wisdom comes with the ability to be still. Just look and just listen. No more is needed. Being still, looking, and listening activates the non-conceptual intelligence within you. Let stillness direct your words and actions.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

It’s the Season

“Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living!”

~ Amanda Bradley

it’s the season for life to get out of balance with all the things you have to do. Slow down, take a step back, and breathe deeply before you implode. Remember, the holiday season shouldn’t be a time to make you crazy. It should be a time to reflect on family, friends, and be grateful for your life. If you’re not mindful, this time of year can get out of hand.

Instead of thinking about all the presents you have to buy, all the places you have to be, and all the unending things you have to do, connect to the beauty and peace of nature because it will never fail you. While you’re at it, think about all the love you have to give, all the kindness you need to spread.

Stop the mindless stressing and feel the peace and joy down deep inside your soul and let those things be your guiding light restoring your balance where you can breathe with delight.

After all, it’s what the season is all about.

“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.”

~ Hamilton Wright Mabie

Childhood Holds the Key to Your Purpose

Do you feel you’re living your life the way it was meant to be? If not, then the key to your purpose is hidden away in your childhood. Look deep within and remember what it was that got your attention and excited you and that will be the purpose you were supposed to follow. Maybe you had more than one–lucky you! But know, there is at least one.

Sometimes life gets in the way and purpose gets lost in the shuffle, but you can always find it again. Until you find and follow your purpose you will never be completely happy. There will always be something missing.

It doesn’t matter what your obligations are, how much time in a day you have, or how old you are, because it’s never too late to find and follow your purpose.

Close your eyes and go back to the discover days of your childhood. Your purpose is there somewhere. Maybe it’s hiding in the toy box of dreams, or at your best friend, Betty’s house. Probably it got lost on your wedding day, or most likely when the first baby came along. We all have junk drawers, maybe it’s been there all long.

“The words on the tombstone read: Died at 30; buried at 60. This is the risk you take when you stop taking risks.”

~ Robert Holden

You were born for a reason; don’t be afraid, go and find it.
