“When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what the storm’s all about.”
~ Haruki Murakami
This pandemic has been our storm, and I wonder who I will be when it’s over.
Who will you be? You have learned to go without certain essentials, making do with what’s available. Some of you have paid a heavy price in losing loved ones, businesses and jobs.
Do you think about and cherish the people in your life so much more, and have become patient and less judgmental toward others? Aren’t you just so grateful for each and every breath you take and think about the importance of caring for yourself, instead of always being at war?
If going through darkness changes a person for the good then it can’t be all bad. We should all be looking at our life and life in general in an improved way. No fear should reside within us. We are pioneers in a brave new world, learning to do things differently, and hopefully better. Let’s not forget about this planet. How we care for our Earth and its beings will come back to us, and maybe already has not in a good way. This pandemic might be a big warning to get our act together.
So … Who will you be? For me, I just hope that I’m a better human.
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” ~ Rumi
A loving pioneer💛 I am with you!

Hear, hear Michele, may we all be changed for the better 😀
It is in knowing what really has importance that changes our beliefs and this event is most certainly asking us to ponder those very things 😀
Great post dear lady 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

It’s been a time to go inward and see the truth of the stories we have told ourselves and who we think we really are. I am definitely discovering a deeper sense of self and letting go of the old stories Michele! Great post 🙏🏻🌈

I’ve been spending a lot of time going inward and for that great benefit it has been a good time. A renewal for sure. Thank you Karen.

Baby steps in everything we do. It might seem strange at first when you go back, but pretty soon you will feel secure and comfortable.

True words of wisdom said by the great Rumi and Michele we all are going to change for the better. Our world required something like this. We have destroyed our environment, killed animals for our pleasure so why not God showing us what he is capable of showing us. We have become heartless and selfish. Let us all pray that we as One Humanity change for the better.

I love Rumi’s quotes Kamal. Don’t you just wish he was alive and you could sit and listen to him speak? I hope we put two and two together and remember this storm and actually learn from it. Life could be so much better for all. Mother Nature has been very patient but she’s running out of it. Thank you for your words of wisdom.

Same here, Michele. Hope he was here with us today, we could have listened to his words of wisdom. Yes life can be much better for everyone if we learn to live with each and everyone with love and kindness. Welcome always dear. Stay safe.

I don’t think many will come out of this situation unscathed or unchanged in some way, and it’s definitely a good time to think about how that’s going to look. I want to aspire to be a better human, too. Maybe less stressed over the small things as well.
Stay safe lovely xxxx

Yes, Caz, being less stressed is my goal too. Which I guess if we can manage that during this stressful time then we’re doing pretty darn good. You stay safe too! xx

Not a whole lot has changed for us..except online church and karate at home..both of which I enjoy. esp since our church is an hour and a half away. 😉 I still home school, and tutor. We go out for our groceries, Husband goes to doctor, we ride the bike in good weather, etc. I have noticed that many are really ugly to those who disagree with them. That’s horrible. We should be able to disagree and still be kind and respectful.

It’s the same with me Elizabeth. Some things haven’t changed, but others have. It’s like there’s a stillness surrounding us. I don’t understand why people get ugly with those that disagree with them. Maybe some of it is that those people are just miserable with the current situation and take it out on others. That’s sad, but there are always those that want to send their frustration out into the world.

Amen to that for me, Michele. One thing I’ve noticed is that the rushing around from thing to thing while maybe not stopped has slowed considerably mostly since there’s nowhere to go. Plus I’ve been asking the question, does this bring me joy? a lot more. There are other changes I notice, but I hope those two things at least continue into the return to normal days. xo

That’s a great question to ask ourselves: “Does this bring me joy?” This is the deep thinking that will help us so much when we start getting back into the world and being around one another. I hope people continue to slow down too, Pam. Take care xo

Hi Michele, Hope you are well?? Times like this make us literally stop and take stock. Before we head back to normal it is a good time to think about how we want our new normal to be. Love your post and I have definitely been thinking about what is truly important lately.I too just want to be a better, kinder, loving and more compassionate human xxx

So nice to hear from you Michelle! I’ve be wondering how you are doing after all the fires etc. I’ve been on your blog several times and seen that you haven’t been posting. I hope you’re doing really well! I’m fine just hoping to keep well and wishing this virus was over. It’s spring here so I’ve been super busy planting and changing things around. You and I are on the same thinking path of taking stock of our life and wanting a new normal. I hope we can all do that and make our lives and the world a better place. I’m going to hurry over to your blog and see if you have posted. Take care and keep healthy. Hugs 🙂

Hi Michele, Thank you for thinking of me. The fires seemed to come back to back to COVID19 for me. Both have impacted my job and make me busier then usual, so I have been offline for awhile. Happy to be busy and I love my job so I am not complaining, but have not made time to think of posting. I took the advice of a very talented and wise blogger – (yourself xxx) – and have reposted a couple of old posts that seem as relevant today as they were back then. Thank you for being such a caring and thoughtful person xxx

Aw, that’s so sweet of you for giving me credit on the reblogging. I should do that too, but sometimes I don’t take my own advice, lol 🙂 Sounds like you’ve had your hands full with this virus and the fires. Your reblogged posts are very relevant today and I have enjoyed reading them. I hope as you enter into winter that both the fires and the virus go away and life gets to a new and wonderful normal for you. Take care of yourself Michelle, you can’t be replaced, and I look forward to all your future posts. Hugs.
