Mindfulness in Uncertainty

sky 23

Mindfulness brings us to this very moment which is all we truly ever have. We can’t live in the past or the future. One is gone and one is always full of uncertainty. As humans we do like going into the past and feeling the pain so we can figure things out. And we love planning for the future. But all those things are a waste of time because we are only living in the now, and that’s the way it’s always been, not just because we are in a pandemic.

We shouldn’t feel fear and unbalanced with the uncertainty of our future because nothing really has changed. Our future has always been uncertain. And life is always in flux. And that can be good even if it doesn’t seem so at the time. We just never know what exciting thing is waiting around the corner for us.

“When nothing is sure, everything is possible.”
~ Margaret Atwood

Mindfulness is empowering because we learn to flow and not fight what is; bad or good. We see things the way they are and we’re not afraid anymore.

“To think in terms of either pessimism or optimism oversimplifies the truth. The problem is to see reality as it is.”
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Pay attention to all that surrounds you. Don’t fear the unknown, but embrace it instead. Have no expectations. Just open your arms and breathe in the life all around you.

“Uncertainty is the fertile ground of creativity and freedom.”
~ Deepak Chopra

By being mindful and living with uncertainty anything in life is possible. Mindfulness and uncertainty are a gift of freedom in our life.

“Mindfulness is a way of befriending ourselves and our experience.”
~ Jon-Kabat-Zinn

  1. LOVE THIS!!
    My favorite part:
We shouldn’t feel fear and unbalanced with the uncertainty of our future because nothing really has changed. Our future has always been uncertain. And life is always in flux. And that can be good even if it doesn’t seem so at the time. We just never know what exciting thing is waiting around the corner for us.

So true..we have never really known what the future will bring. We just assume we do. 😉

  2. They’ll have a tablet for the virus next week and ask us to get back to work and do triple the hours to make up for what is lost Michele…and then we will wish we were all back home spending time with our loved one’s 😂

Got to love the power of perspective!

Our conscious experience being limited to our experiences and sensory organs leaves us vulnerable.

But yet, we are so convinced, because it is all we ever known, or could know.

Such a beautiful phenomena. Like the puzzle of life. 🤔

This sort of thinking is fun! 😄

Interpretations and perspectives, so much of reality can be morphed through those concepts 😏

      Difference between depression and optimism.

  3. Oh, my! Let’s hope the new normal will bring us all together in a common cause of living in the moment, being kind toward one another, and walking gently upon our beautiful earth. Through difficult times there is always much to learn.

Thinking perhaps that … mindfulness is uncertainty. Letting go of assumptions and the stories we choose about things. When we are truly mindful we acknowledge what comes up… recognize the old habitual thinking .., and then step back.
Noticing is so powerful. Acceptance is the gateway.
    Thanks Michele 💕

    I love this 💙

There are plenty of opportunities even with this chaos. From financial to self-growth.
Some will take advantage of this opportunity, some won’t.
I’ve explored a few of these opportunities recently.

It all comes down to perspective, your thoughts create your reality. 🤔

Mindfulness adds the spice back into life.

Well done, thanks for sharing! 😄

Brilliant post. I quite liked the citations you added 🙂 In Yoga Philosophy ‘Namaha’ is the word used for one the concepts you talk about – acceptance of what is, wheter good or bad.
