Take a pause in your busy day and breathe in the fragrance of flowers
“Which is loveliest in a rose? Its coy beauty when it’s budding, or its splendor when it blows?” ~ George Barlow
“The flower has opened, has been in the sun and is unafraid. I’m taking more chances; I’m bold and proud.” ~ Paula Cole
“A bit of fragrance clings to the hand that gives flowers.” ~ Chinese proverb
“Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower and draws all good things towards you.” ~ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” ~ Author unknown
“Be the flower that gives its fragrance to even the hand that crushes it.”
~ Ali ibn Abi Talib
Maybe we should all be like flowers.

Thank you David 🙂 Most of them are my backyard flowers. I love roses too. The pink ones are my carpet roses and I just love how unique they are.

Hi Neil! Those are great quotes. The one from the unknown author is a good lesson we should all learn. Just bloom and forget the rest. Sorry my reply is not under your comment. I’ve tried several times. So weird.

These flowers are beautiful Michele, as are their words. I can even smell them by just looking at them 😀

Yes, muchly! 😀
I can actually see them now, where before life just kept me too busy with my own problems to see the beauty under my nose…so to speak 😀
There should be a law that there be meditations to start everyone’s day in a huge community garden in every city and town across the country. If they’re going to make laws at least let them benefit instead of just filling the coffers of the government all the time 😀

I love flowers! I think I have to stop and smell them. I used to breathe into trees and I love the smell of freshly cut grass.

I guess you can tell that I feel the same way Eliza 🙂 I always want to take a picture of them too. The smells of nature are so perfect. You know what’s really cool is breathing in the fragrance of a mint plant. So calming.

I’ve never actually seen mint plants, I don’t think. I’d love to grow bamboo for supposedly it’s really healthy.

Mint is fun to grow, but does better outside in a pot. I’ve heard bamboo is wonderful.

It said you can do bamboo inside. I really should look into it.

This was a great post to start the day with!
I think the olfactory senses (and memories) are under-appreciated sometimes. I notice and feel fragrances, scents, constantly. Not only sweet flowers of course, and all the other poetic sources (rain, fresh-mown grass) but also the smell of the earth, the waft of gasoline, the tannic waters of the swamp.
Often, smells will take me instantly to a time and place. My dad’s shop, my mother’s kitchen, the attic of my childhood home.
Indeed, one must appreciate all the fragrances of a truly aromatic world.
Seek peace,
Paz

Thank you Pazlo, I feel the same way about fragrances. It does put you right back in time. My Mother’s favorite perfume does that to me.
