Past, Present, Future

You can’t change your past, but you sure can change your present for the better. Life is short and the future is not promised to anyone. Every positive present moment we possess makes whatever future we have that much better.

Sail on my friends.

    I absolutely love that quote!
I heard another one once that goes along the lines of: If you’re depressed, you’re living in the past, if you’re anxious you’re living in the future, the only moment you have is the present.
    Happy weekend Michele

    • I liked all of that quote Eliza, but especially the part of not punishing your present. I’ve done that in the past and it’s awful. I almost used the other quote you mentioned. Have a great weekend too!

  6. I’ve been embracing a personally new dimension to my faith, that I can create my own opportunities, that God will bless my initiatives if He chooses.

Happened to find this on a day when I needed to read this kind of reminder! It is true but difficult – the mind just seems to oscillate between past and future and the present can feel like it is only forged by this movement. Thanks for posting these words, I’ll be following you πŸ™‚

  9. Hi, Avriii, nice to meet you. I’m so glad you found my post and that it helped. That’s what I always hope for, so thank you for letting me know. I agree with you that the mind likes to hop all over the place from past to future to back to present. I struggle with this at times. I like your blog and have started following you πŸ™‚

Thank you for this great quote. I know I am often guilty of wasting my precious time on being upset for the stuff of yesterday.

  11. So glad you liked the quote Inese. I too have been known to waste precious time on being upset about the past. I’m working on change πŸ™‚

What a great reminder that we can choose how we respond to any situation where we find ourselves. Yes, you may not be able to control your circumstances, but everyone has full control over how they respond to them!
